1 Peter 3:3-4

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewellery or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. - 1 Peter 3:3,4

What are you thinking?

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. - Romans 8: 5-6 NLT

I was having trouble. I was thinking rubbish. Everything in my head was stupid, stupid scenes, ugly, sinful thoughts, images I wish I had never seen, and conversations that didnt mean anything at all. My mind had become a real dump. My life dumped all the rubbish of the day in my mind and let it sit there and go off. It stunk. It affected my walk with God. I thought about what I felt like, I didnt put any barriers up but constantly let my mind go from subject to subject as it wished.

But I found, that as I let my mind have control over what it wanted to think, that the Spirit lost its power in me. I let my sinful nature do what it wanted. I didnt meditate on the bible in my spare moments. I forgot to pray.

What do you spend your spare moments thinking about? If you are waiting in line at the grocery store, where do your thoughts go? What do you think about?

I had to clean the rubbish out and get back to God. It affected all of me, how I talked, my actions, my heart. Because, in a way, everything comes from whats inside of us. I had to put up barriers. No, I would use my time wisely and pray in my spare moments. I would meditate on this mornings scripture.

I encourage you girls, have a look at what you are thinking about. Be purposeful, and dont let your sinful nature have control of your mind, clean out the rubbish and use every moment you can for Him, because when you dont, sin gets in the way between us and God.

Daughters of the King

Do you ever feel like you are insignificant or unloved? Like you can't do things right or things aren't going the way you had hoped? Girls and women all around the world struggle with these feelings at least once in their lives, if not more. Females are more open to emotions and can often think things are more difficult than they actually are.

But we shouldn't be feeling this way because it shows where our faith fails, where we fall short of God's plan for us, where we trust Him the least. God didn't send His only son to die one of the most horrible deaths for us to feel sorry for ourselves. One of my favourite sayings is "Don't doubt in the dark what you knew in the light". If we trusted our lives to God and knew He had a plan for us then why would we ever doubt? When we are in messy situations that's when we tend to take our focus off the Solution and onto the problem before us. It's an easy trap to fall into.

When these trials, problems and feelings come along, remember to whom you belong. Your Father and King wouldn't forsake you in the times when you struggle and need Him the most. He says in the Bible that He will never leave nor forsake you! Why would He start now. Turn your eyes upon Jesus and look full in His wonderful name. When you feel unloved, unimportant or insecure remember that you have the Kings of kings and Lord of lords holding your hand every step of the way. He never lets go, so we need to make sure we hold on.

"I know Who goes before me, I know Who stands behind. The God of angel armies is always by my side."
- Chris Tomlin

Some verses to remember:
Joshua 1:9
Isaiah 41:13
John 3:16
Romans 8:16
Philippians 4:13
Hebrews 13:5

You Are For Me - Kari Jobe  (beautiful, beautiful, beautiful song!!!)
You Are Loved - Rebecca St. James
One Who Saves - Hillsong
Whom Shall I Fear (God Of Angel Armies) - Chris Tomlin

May you all be blessed!

Fruits Of The Spirit

Sometimes when I have a tough week and my attitude starts to go downhill, I have a special thing I do. Sometimes I do it just for fun! It's also a great way to bless others, ourselves and please God while adding to your character.

The Fruits Of The Spirit are:
Love
Joy
Peace
Patience
Kindness
Goodness
Faithfulness
Gentleness
Self-Control

Galations 5:22-23

I would choose one of these or write them out and draw one out of a hat or bucket. The 'Spirit' I chose would become my mission for the week. So if I chose Love, I would practice showing love in EVERYTHING I did, said, showed, gave and in any aspect or opportunity to bless someone by showing love. If it was Peace I would work on making God my peace and would meditate on His word and work on making my relationship with Him an intimate one. Simple right?!

Depending on circumstances I would add some more like compassion, forgiveness or blessing - whatever I feel I need to work on in my life.

I challenge you all to chose a 'Spirit' and to make it your focus to demonstrate it in every word you say, action you do and in any other way you can! It's a great exercise and practice to get into. I'm going to be doing it as well and in 1 week from today I'll ask readers about and I expect to get your responses in the comments with the 'Spirit' you chose and how you went!

God bless you all and be with you in the week to come!! :)
